BEHR Dark Everglade Interior Paint

Dark green is one of my favorite colors to use in interiors because, well, it’s my favorite color! And for good reason… it’s calming and grounding like blue, but more energizing. Its warmth pairs beautifully with wood tones, and it can make a huge impact, especially when color-drenching a room.

In this list, I share my five favorite dark green paint colors from BEHR, which you can find at any location of The Home Depot. If you’re open to other paint brands, check out all of my favorite interior greens.

BEHR Dark Everglade

Let’s start with one of my favorites, BEHR Dark Everglade. This is a beautiful deep dark green with a cooler undertone. It has a Light Reflectance Value (LRV) of 8, which means it only reflects 8% of the light that hits its surface. In other words, this is a very deep, moody green, but it still has enough vibrance to pop, especially when used in a higher sheen like on the cabinets in the room above.

BEHR Alpine Trail

If you’re looking for something warmer and less vibrant, try BEHR Alpine Trail. This is more of a pine green and slightly lighter than Dark Everglade with an LRV of 10. It’s bold but less saturated and has enough of a gray undertone to feel sophisticated and muted, even in direct sunlight as you can see on the windowsills in the bathroom above.

BEHR Cypress Vine

If you like the idea of a sophisticated spin on an olive green, look to BEHR Cypress Vine. This color has all of the warmth of a classic olive shade but enough of a gray undertone to appear more muted. Cypress Vine is a beautiful option if you prefer warmer greens that never lean blue, and with an LRV of 12, it will bounce more light than the previous two greens.

BEHR Black Evergreen

If you’re looking for high drama and maximum moodiness, look no further than BEHR Black Evergreen. This deep dark blackened green is a beautiful choice, especially when used in a higher sheen to add dimension and reflect more light like on the cabinets in the room above. With an LRV of 8, Black Evergreen has the same darkness of Dark Everglade but is much less vibrant in color.

BEHR Silken Pine

And finally, we have this beautiful vibrant shade of cool green, BEHR Silken Pine. If you like a shade that sits on the border of blue and green, this is a great option for you. Silken Pine is saturated enough to feel like a bold pop of color but has enough of a gray undertone to feel a little more toned down. Like Alpine Trail, Silken Pine sits at an LRV of 10, but it’s so vibrant that it honestly feels much lighter. And remember that when used with a higher sheen like on the cabinets above, paint can always bounce more light than its baseline LRV.
