Valspar Jade Sea Interior Paint

Dark green is a shade I reach for again and again indoors, partly because I love it, but mostly because it works so well in so many different spaces. It has the same steady, calming presence as blue, but with a little more life and richness. And when you really commit to it, like wrapping the entire room in the color, it creates a bold statement that feels both dramatic and inviting.

In this list, I share my five favorite Valspar dark green interior paint colors, which you can find at any location of Lowe’s. If you’re open to other paint brands, check out all of my top interior green paint colors.

Valspar Deep River Green

Let’s start with the darkest of the bunch, Valspar Deep River Green. This deep cool green has a light reflectance value (LRV) of just 4, which means that it only reflects 4% of the light that hits its surface. If you’re looking for high drama or just want a more playful alternative to black, Deep River Green does the trick. It has a strong cool tone and sits right on the border of blue and green, so it will change color like a chameleon throughout the day in different light.

Valspar Canadian Fir

For a slightly lighter cool green option, look to Valspar Canadian Fir. This shade has an LRV of 9, so it will bounce more than twice the amount of light as Deep River Green. It’s still a deep moody color, but especially when used in a higher sheen like on the cabinets in the room above, it can appear much lighter in direct sunlight. I love its vibrancy of color, but it still has enough of a gray undertone to keep it feeling more muted and sophisticated.

Valspar Billiard Room

If you like the LRV of Canadian Fir but want something that reads more like a true green, look to Valspar Billiard Room. This shade also has an LRV of 9 and a slightly cool undertone, but it reads more warm overall. It gets its name from the classic dark green color associated with billiard (pool) tables. Billiard Room would also make for a classic dark green color for a moody library.

Valspar Jade Sea

For something a little more muted and soft, try Valspar Jade Sea. This shade has almost the same color profile and LRV as Billiard Room but has a stronger gray undertone that helps it feel subdued and calm. Jade Sea would work perfectly with the tones of modern farmhouse and modern traditional homes, as you can see in the mudroom above.

Valspar Treeline

And finally, we have Valspar Treeline. Like many others in this list, this shade has an LRV of 9. And like Jade Sea, it has a stronger gray undertone that helps it work seamlessly in modern traditional designs that use more muted colors. Unlike the other dark greens in this list, it has a warmer undertone that will read as a true green throughout the day, no matter the lighting. This color is extremely similar to the shade I used for my green bathroom, and I love it.
